🔎GRAFTING ( കൊമ്പ് ഒട്ടിക്കൽ)

Grafting is a method of producing superior quality plantlets by joining the stems of to plants of the same species. 

 🔎കൊമ്പ് ഒട്ടിക്കൽ

ഒരു സസ്യത്തിൻെറ കൊമ്പിൽ അതേ വർഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട മറ്റൊരു സസ്യത്തിൻെറ കൊമ്പ് വച്ചുപിടിപ്പിച്ച് ഗുണമേന്മയുള്ള നടീൽവസ്തുക്കളുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന രീതിയാണ് ഗ്രാഫ്റ്റിംഗ് അഥവ കൊമ്പ് ഒട്ടിക്കൽ

🔎STOCK (മൂലകാണ്ഡം)

The rooted plant selected for grafting is called root stock. 

🔎SCION ( ഒട്ടുകമ്പ് ) 

The branch selected for grafting is called the scion. 

🔎സ്റ്റോക്ക് (മൂലകാണ്ഡം)

ഒട്ടിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന വേരോട് കൂടിയ തൈച്ചെടിയെ സ്റ്റോക്ക് (മൂലകാണ്ഡം)

🔎സയൺ  ( ഒട്ടുകമ്പ് )

ഒട്ടിക്കാനുപയോഗിക്കുന്ന കമ്പിനെ സയൺ  ( ഒട്ടുകമ്പ് ) എന്നു പറയുന്നു. 

🔎TYPES OF GRAFTING

ഗ്രാഫ്റ്റിംഗ് രീതികൾ

APPROACH  GRAFTING (അപ്രോച്ച് ഗ്രാഫ്റ്റിംഗ്)

CLEFT GRAFTING ( ക്ലഫ്റ്റ് ഗ്രാഫ്റ്റിംഗ്)

WHIP GRAFTING ( വിപ്പ് ഗ്രാഫ്റ്റിംഗ്)

GRAFTING ( കൊമ്പ് ഒട്ടിക്കൽ)

🔎THE METHOD OF APPROACH GRAFTING IS GIVEN BELOW 

👉Peel off the bark from the facing sides of both the stock and scion in 3 1/2 cm length .

👉Bring the peeled off potions of stock and scion in contact with each other. Wrap them together firmly with a jute twine.

👉Cover it with a wax cloth or plastic tape. After one month, cut partially the stock above the covered area and the scion below. 

👉Wait for one more month and cut and detach the part completely. When it attains proper growth , it can be replanted in a more suitable place. Remove any new branches sprouting on the stock.
